山川17号―英語でスピーチ

昨日、甲子園球場で、西武の山川穂高選手が17号ホームランを打ち、阪神に2-0で勝利した。もちろん、セ・パ両リーグでの最多ホームランだ。これで、12球団の全本拠地球場でホームランを打ったと今朝の新聞が報じている。嬉しい。

今日、1時限目の英語の授業があったので、山川選手のホームランについて1分間スペーチをした。生徒もよく理解してくれた。

  Hotaka Yamagawa, pro-baseball player for Seibu Lions, hit the 17^th homerun in the yesterday’s game against Hanshin Tigers, which is the largest number of homeruns hit by all baseball players up to day of this year’s season in Japan.
